Description :

Part 1:
Whit and Tom have finished fixing the Imagination Station, and have modified it to allow two people to have different adventures at the same time. Robyn and Jack climb in while Whit is programming it, and find themselves seperated. Robyn finds herself being forced by the wicked Queen Jezebel to bow down to the Baal idols, while Jack has met with the prophet Elijah.

Part 2:
Robyn escapes from the Queen, and manages to get to Mount Carmel where she and Jack witness a showdown between Elijah and the priests of Baal.

Review :

Here we have a cracking two episodes, which not only tell the Bible story in an exciting way, but also has interesting subplots, background and characters. Robyn and Jack are well-used as characters, even if Jack talking to "Mr Cow" is a little odd, and Robyn takes just a little too long to catch on that she isn't in Odyssey and can't phone her Dad to complain about being thrown in the dungeon.

Splitting up Robyn and Jack allows for two perspectives on the story, that of the court of Ahab and Jezebel, and that of Elijah. As Part Two opens, we have new aspects revealed as Robyn is saved by Obadiah, helping to fuel the plot. Elijah is acted very well, and seems just the right balance of being enigmatic and a man of God.

The final scene of Part One is particularly good - even quite scary. Jezebel and Ahab seem very like another evil queen and henpecked husband, i.e. Herod and Herodias in The Big Deal. The other most memorable scene is the confrontation on Mount Carmel, although I don't feel the production standard is as high here as in later stories. The ending is a bit of a cop out. I wanted to know what happened next!

A classic.
