Description :
This is a set designed to introduce Odyssey and the early history of the show. It focuses a lot on Connie and how she came to be a Christian, but also how Whit's End started, how Whit became a Christian, how Kids Radio started and includes the
first Imagination Station adventure.
The episodes are:
Connie Comes to Town
Recollections
Promises, Promises
Stormy Weather
Kids Radio
Karen
The Shepherd and the Giant
Thank You, God!
Connie (Part 1 and 2)
The Imagination Station (Part 1 and 2)
Review :
For me, one of the good things about Adventures in Odyssey is the variety of styles and characters. It suffers when the
emphasis is on only one or two characters, in this case Connie. The quality of the episodes isn't excellent and few stories
really shine. I must say that I preferred the non-Connie stories.
In my humble opinion, it would have been better to have a wider variety from different periods in the show's history,
covering as many characters, story lines, inventions and styles as possible. This set contains only one rather mediocre
funny episode ("Kids Radio"). Many better choices to introduce the series spring to mind.
As a set for the early history of the show, it works, but not as an introduction to Odyssey. Not really worth it, since
people fairly new to Odyssey would do better just to buy a normal set, and fans would be better off buying the entire sets
containing theses episodes rather than this.
